I'm currently a junior at Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston, South Carolina. I am an equestrian focused on the hunter and equitation rings for the past 8 years. I have experience riding and training young horses, with my current horse, Atlas, being 6 years old. We compete in the Children's Hunters and the 3' equitation medals. Recently I started leasing an equitation horse named Spygate to help me learn more about the equitation and move up the ranks. We are competing in the 3'3 equitation and medals with hopes to move up to the 3'6 soon. I love catch rides and I am always looking for more opportunities to ride extra horses. Currently I am riding at Daniel F. Geitner Stables, under Cathy Geitner's guidance. I also compete in IEA in the open division and I enjoy riding many different horses.
I have years of experience in taking proper care of horses. I have learned a great deal on barn management and horse care through my experience at the Emerging Athletes Program and at DFG Stables. In the summer of 2022, I will be a working student at DFG stables to further my education in horse care and riding.
I am hoping to move up to the 3'3" juniors and 3'6 equitation soon. My longterm goals are the 3'6" equitation medals and finals as well as junior hunter finals.
Though riding leaves me little time for other activities, I have enjoyed participating in my school's French National Honor Society and other service organizations. In 2019, I enjoyed helping tutor students at Meeting Street Academy though the opportunity was limited due to COVID-19. My other interests include travel, design, and architecture. I have always greatly appreciated other cultures while helping others. In 2018, I went on a service trip to the Dominican Republic where we helped teach English at a local school through the Outreach 360 program. I have been very fortunate to visit multiple countries and experience many different ways of life.
I am looking into careers in biotechnology and other STEM fields since I love math and science.
